2011 Pinto World Series Runner Up Finish! CONGRATULATIONS!

Our Pinto A Thunder made it to the Championship game against William S. Hart in 2011 PONY Pinto West Zone World Series in San Jose, CA. Our boys played fantastic during the tournament season and ultimately fell one victory short in their quest to bring the Championship Banner to BVPB.

During World Series play, the team went 4-2 with impressive wins over Queens Creek AZ (10-0), SJ PAL (14-4), and Bel Passi (4-2 and 10-1). In front of a packed stadium full of BV supporters, the team lost its first game in the Series to Bel Passi 2-1 in 7 innings. The boys produced a dramatic 6th inning rally to tie the score at 1 only to have Bel Passi come back with a rally of its own to secure the win in extra innings. Although disappointed by the outcome, the boys never lost confidence in themselves and roared back with four consecutive wins to clinch a spot in the Championship game. Perhaps the most memorable game of the Series was the second game against Bel Passi. Playing under the lights at PAL Stadium, and again with the support of our BV community, the boys stirred its fan base into a frenzy with a solid 4-2 win to set up the deciding game against Bel Passi for the right to be called NorCal’s Best. Our boys would not be denied a spot in the championship game as they played brilliantly to secure a place in the Championship game.

The Pinto A team went 13-3 in overall tournament play this season. This includes a dominant 1st place finish at the Fremont Baseball Memorial Day tournament, a 1st place finish at PONY Sectionals, and a very respectable fourth place showing at a July 4th USSSA tournament in SoCal against tough SoCal travel teams that had opposing teams asking “Where is Blossom Valley PONY Baseball located?” Our boys did a great job representing BVPB.

On behalf of the entire Pinto A All-Star Team, I want to thank everyone who made it out this tournament season to support our young all-stars. Your energy and presence helped the team tremendously. Thank you.

I am incredibly proud of the effort and sportsmanship these fine young boys exhibited this season. Their elevated caliber of play was amazing to watch. Please join me in congratulating these all-stars for their outstanding accomplishment!
