Chicken Pox Exposure Warning

The Ryan family have reported that their son Grady who is on the Mustang Marlins came down with Chicken Pox on Tuesday night 5/13/08. His school has 18 active cases of Chicken Pox currently, and Grady was playing with other kids at Calero on Tuesday during the games being played. The Marlins played the Mustang Reds on Monday 5/12/08, so the players on that team may have been exposed to Chicken Pox also.

Please keep an eye on your kids to look for any signs that may indicate that they have been exposed and take the appropriate action if you suspect they have.

Incident at Calero 4/21/08: Warn your kids!

On Monday 4/21/08 at 4:45pm, a car pulled up to a BVPB mother at the corner of Calero and Shawcroft and tried to lure the mother closer to the car asking questions like what time does school let out.  Calero was closed for the day and even if it was open, school does not last until 4:45pm.  When that did not work, the stranger started saying more and more vulgar things to the parent and even popped open the car door.  The mother rushed to the snack shack.  The car and person were spotted around the school several more times.  The last time the person was spotted, he was wearing a different shirt.  The police were called and came out in force.

DESCRIPTION:
Male in his mid to late 20's
Latino with very short buzz / bald
Driving a very old impala (or possibly el camino) low rider
The car was not painted, only grayish primer
License plate # MOF 031

Please remind your kids not to approach a stranger on foot or in a car.  Keep your eyes on your kids and see that they don't wander off alone.  There was a similar event last year where two kids were almost abducted last year near C3 at dusk.

BV 11U Club Team Has Success in First Tournaments!

11U Stallions

The 11 year old BV Stallions Club Team is well underway for the 2008 season. The team has played in 2 tournaments, made it to 2 championship games, and so far has a record of 7-3 against travel teams from across Northern California.

In the 2008 Twin Creeks Kickoff Tournament in January, BV lost its first game then strung together four straight victories to win the championship. The team played in some very cold weather, playing on frozen grass early on Sunday and winning 3 games that day to bring home championship medals. Clutch hitting by Troy Burg and Ryan Jung along with awesome pitching by Landon Castagnola, Bryan Johnson, and Tyler Martin were the keys to success.

In their second tournament of the year at the President’s Weekend Tournament also at Twin Creeks, the team again faced some formidable opponents and once again made it to the championship game. Jesse Reyes, Marc Figueroa, and Branden Keding had some big extra base hits to lead the team in hitting. Alex Hoffnagle and DJ Hollingshead made some clutch plays in the outfield to help shut down opponents on Saturday. On Sunday, the team played three games and was at the field from dawn to dusk. In the end, the team lost in the championship game to a very experienced travel team. All the players received trophies for their second place effort.

Congratulations to the 11 year old BV Stallions Club Team!
