President's Message
Friends, it is my pleasure to welcome all of you to Blossom Valley PONY Baseball for another great season in 2010! For those of you returning to BV, it is great to have you back. For those of you new to BV, welcome to our community.
BV has played a significant role in building our South San Jose community over the past 30 years and has grown to be one of the finest youth sports leagues in the entire Bay Area. Our league has built a solid reputation for integrity, leadership, community service, and most of all teaching our children teamwork and physical/mental skills through our favorite game, BASEBALL.
Thanks to all of you who have volunteered your time for our kids. This season, we have approximately 600 players (ages 4-19), 150 Managers/Coaches, and 50 Team Parents. All of you play a significant role in this community and your volunteer efforts are greatly appreciated by the league and your children.
I am proud to be a part of an all volunteer board of over 40 dedicated members who are committed to carry BV into the future. I would like to thank each one of them for their hard work and passion to make our league great. BVPB is always growing and in need of new Board members. This year is no different and we have a number of board positions open now and several more opening up by the end of this spring season so we will be actively recruiting. We have a variety of activities planned this year for everyone to get together and celebrate the 2010 season. Our Opening Day Ceremony is coming soon and will be on March 27. We have an awesome opening day planned again this year for all to enjoy. SJ Giants night will be held on April 30 this year. This has become our largest fundraiser and the premier event of the year as the SJ Giants will welcome us and have a special firework show just for BVPB. In addition, last year, our first ever Crab Feed received excellent reviews and this year we have planned a Spaghetti Feed on May 22. These events will be great opportunities for families to get to know each other on and off the field.
I am personally looking forward to meeting as many of you as I can so feel free to say "Hi" out at the ball park this season.
